About the Malcontent

My name is Mercury, I'm an almost-middle-aged nonbinary trans person (they/them, please). I live in Finland with my husband (J) and our two cats (Gordon and James). I am also partnered to the lovely, talented, and all around excellent rainbowbarnacle.

I've been around the internet for Quite Some Time, but for various (largely gender related) reasons I've only had mercurialMalcontent as my handle since I got into Homestuck in 2011. You'll find me elseweb under that handle, quickslvrscribe when the character limit is too short, or M Rhys.

I tend to be curmudgeonly and gruff, but I try to keep it funny or at the very least not directed at anymore.

About this blog

I'll be posting a mixture of fandom-related things, original work, and personal posts. I'll do my best to keep everything organized by tag so that if you're interested in specific content, those things will be easy to find.

Listing the fandoms I'm likely to post about is unfeasible since I'm interested in too many things, but it's safe to assume that I'll be writing a lot about Final Fantasy XIV, Dragon Age, Stardew Valley, and Homestuck/Hiveswap. I also post game mods that I make (currently in the works are two Stardew Valley farm buildings sets).

Personal things I'll post publicly that aren't quotidian natterings will likely be by and large related to gender or disability.

I'll use cuts for particularly long posts, or anything with content I feel I should warn for. The content warnings themselves I'll post before the cut, naturally.
